At the end of August 2006, we went to the Fenland Country Fair at Stow-cum-Quy, near Cambridge. Gemma and I like adventures such as this because there are nearly as many dogs there as there are people: dogs with their pets, gundogs, sheep dogs, greyhounds, lurchers and, of course, terriers! Lots of people made lots of fuss of us while lots of dogs just ignored Ian and Julie - well I imagine all those dogs were far too busy leading their humans through the crowds of other dogs leading their humans!

There were lots of things happening during the day, the best of which was at lunchtime when this human we'd never seen before shared her sausage lunch with us! Now that's something that never happens at home!

Traction Engine leading parade of vintage vehicles - 27 August 2006

While, obviously, all the best bits featured animals or birds, and especially dogs, there was one fascinating mechanical event - a parade of vintage vehicles, led by this traction engine. Gemma doesn't like traction engines: neither do I - I much prefer chicken!

We next went here in 2009. The main news this year was that Yours truly took part in the Terrior Racing. Great fun, but I was dog tired all of the next day. Gemma was too because, as she argued, watching is tiring too! For two 'fun' photos (well Ian and Julie thought so) see the 'What's New' page of this website...
