Bonfire Night in the UK is on 5 November - fact! Bonfire night is more to do with fireworks than bonfires - fact! Modern-day, loud fireworks frighten animals like Gemma and me - fact! So whose bright idea was it this year to bring 5 November forward to Saturday 22 September?
Gemma and I were terrified! There we were, downstairs, quietly enjoying the firework-free evening when 'BANG!' - it sounded as if the world was coming to an end! Julie was already upstairs, and I noticed that Ian disappeared upstairs as well as soon as the fireworks started. So, while Gemma just stood there barking like a mad thing as though that was going to make any difference, I rushed through before the door closed, and overtook Ian half way up the stairs. When he sat down at his computer, he was amused to see that I had beaten him to where he obviously thought it safest to be right at that moment!
After all, those nasty fireworks were going off downstairs, not upstairs!
Keep noise levels down! Turn your volume up (if you don't have animals in your home) to find out why - and what we have to go through! Keep even the volume down if you have animals nearby!
